This is most likely because your mind is inundated with all of the day’s work and home-related pressure and stresses. The majority of people face a lot of stress in their daily routine i.e. stressful job, money concerns, family commitments, habits like poor eating that are bad for your health. Some people may even turn to other coping mechanisms like drinking or smoking to help them through the day, but this just leads to other health related issues.
If you don’t know how to manage a stressful life, then here are three simple steps to help you to live your purpose and life with less stress.
In this article, I’ll explain to you what simple steps you need to take to live your life in a more manageable way for a balanced and healthier life.
Step #1 – One thing at a time
A balanced and stress-free life is a dream for everyone, but your life will never be stress-free if you try to tackle too many things at one time. This to a headache and an unhealthy level of stress that can lead to an unhealthy and sad life. The easiest way to start decreasing your stress is to focus on the most important task and get it done. For example, If you want to write a report, make sure you distance yourself from mobile phones and other distractions, including email notifications and stay hydrated. This will allow you to be more focused and you will finish your work more quickly. Then to help you unwind at the end of a busy day, create some new healthy habits, like diffusing calming essential oils like Lavender or Bergamot a couple of hours before bedtime, or maybe relaxing in an epsom salts and essential oil bath for 20 minutes. Turn off electrical devices (yes that includes your mobile phone and Facebook) and try reading before bed to help relax your mind and release your troubles for a healthy sleep and a fresh and bright outlook on life in the morning.
Step #2 – Set clear objectives
Make a list of your goals and focus on those things that lead you to a balanced and stress-free life. Your goals must be written down and I’d recommend making them ‘SMART’ (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Related, and Time-Bound). Look at your handwritten goals and objectives at least once a day to keep you motivated to achieve them. Set your goals and objectives as one of your top priorities and learn to say “NO” to those things that are not included in your priority list and place stress upon you. Earn money and put your utmost effort into getting what you want in your life, but simplify your finances and spend money wisely. Try and find new ways to have fun that don’t break the bank and allow you to have fun, like inviting your friends round for a nice meal, a nice long walk in the woods or by the sea, or even just spending time with your loved ones! Whatever makes you feel love, joy and happiness in your life, without breaking the bank!
Step #3 – Outline the journey, bit by bit
Life is unpredictable so make your journey a beautiful one. Do something that encourages you to keep going, no matter what. Whenever you feel down or stressed, try to do something creative that makes you feel more active and alive. You can take a nap, read a book, take a bath, or go for a walk in nature to feel more refreshed. Sleep well and try to get to bed early because sleeping late can be very stressful and is also not good for your health. Develop the habit of writing down your action steps at least once a day to help you to move even closer toward achieving your goal of a balanced and healthier life. Do this activity every day and in one year you will taken more than 1000 steps towards what makes your life amazing!
